Painted the backdrop with Emily Hackett. I mixed the various levels of paint thickness to work with the lighting. Working closely with the lighting designer Ben Ormerod to create a sky where the lighter areas of cloud were more dense than the darker looking clouds, which were more translucent, painted to aid the impression of a moving sky through the lighting. Also, we carved and painted the polystyrene mounds to emulate sand dunes.
